Joseph D. Straubhaar is the Amon G. Carter Centennial Professor of Communications in the Department of Radio-TV-Film at The University of Texas at Austin. He is the director of the Moody College of Communications’ Latino and Latin American Studies Program. Straubhaar’s research interests include global media, digital media and the digital divide in the U. S. and other countries; and on Brazilian and Latin American television, media and migration.
Straubhaar is co-editor of the “Handbook of Research on Comparative Approaches to the Digital Age Revolution in Europe and the Americas” (Information Science Reference, 2015). His work has appeared in numerous scholarly journals (e.g. New Media & Society, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media), edited books, and elsewhere.
